About Sekizan Zen-in Temple
Sekizan-zen-in is a Tendai-sect temple located in Sakyo Ward in Kyoto City. It is one of other temples of Enryakuji-temple. Its principal deity is Taizanfu-kun. (Sekizan Daimyojin) As it is in the direction of the surface ogimon (north -easr) looking from the Kyoto Imperial Palace, it is believed to have been worshipped since ancient times as a god of protection against the direction of the Earth.
It is also said that if you visit the shrine on the 5th, which falls on the feast day of Sekizan Myojin, and go around collecting money, it is said that you can often collect money, and the merchants were very religious, leading to a business custom commonly known as ‘five-day’ payment.
This is a temple with many highlights, such as statues of gods and Buddha and autumn foliage, in a reasonably spacious precinct, and is thankful temple that can be visited free of charge.
This time, I took the photos using iPhone 11 and I was surprised to see that the pictures were better than those taken with a digital camera.
