The unique thing about the Tanpopo is the red pepper in the soup and the melting roasted pork fillets.
They are located at Senbon Kitayama. A old couple runs the small restaurant…..very old fashioned!!

I ordered the roasted pork fillet ramen (¥900) with small rice (¥100). As you see in the picture, there was a lot of red pepper in the soup. When you actually eat it, it does not seem particularly spicy. The noodle was medium straight. There was a lot of roasted pork fillet. I think they make the roasted pork from the belly. It’s really soft and melted in my mouth.
There was back fat and fat from the roasted pork fillets. It was too oily for me, I got full and couldn’t finish the soup.
However, it is amazing that Tanpopo has been making ramen that tastes so good for so many years that people who come to eat it keep coming back to try it again.
