Gourmet report
At the east side of the JR Kyoto Station by the Takabashi, there were two different ramen shops, the Shinpukusaikan and Daiichi Asahi. They have been competing from long time ago. Now a days, I work around these area so I came to the Shinpukusaikan today.
When we get to the Takabashi, as your see in the picture, there was a huge line!! I haven’t been here for long time, and I wanted to eat good so I ordered the roasted pork fillets ramen (¥900) and rice (¥100).

There is a lot of staff making ramen at the shop. The dark soy sauce base ramen is like a Tokyo style soba dashi (it’s really dark in color.). The noodle was the medium straight noodle. I was amazed about the amount of the roasted pork fillets. I ate them with noodles but I finished eating the noodles before the roasted pork fillets. The soup was too dark to drink all so I left it. If you like the Tokyo style dark dashi, you will like the Shinpukusaikan.
Chashu-men 900 yen + rice (small) 100 yen
