Shabuyo Kyoto Kitaoji

I am a bit of a stockbroker for shareholder gift certificates, and I also own shares in Sukairaku Holdings. I came to Shabuyo, located at the far end of the third floor of Kitaoji Bibule, with my father to use the shareholder discount meal coupon I had received from it.

I remember most customers for the shop were young customers.

The restaurant is buffet style, and you first pass your order through a tablet device, then go get your own vegetables, rice, dipping sauce and condiments, and then with the sign of start, your 60-minute lunch course starts.

Meat can be ordered from the tablet terminal at the left end of the photo.
I ordered 5 plates randomly at a time.

We can choose from a variety of soup stock, but we will be eating it with ponzu or sesame sauce anyway, I don’t think it is worth paying extra to order a different soup stock.

I had heard from my acquaintances that the meat at Shabuyo is not very tasty, but I thought the Sangen Pork Belly was quite good. Kurama Tengu has always loved pork shabu-shabu.

For the dipping sauce, we prepared both ponzu and sesame sauce, but I felt that ponzu was more suitable for the pork shabu-shabu. Ponzu is also a great way to add various condiments.

After filling up on meat, we had after-dinner dessert.
We baked waffles and dipped maple syrup and ate them.

There was also something that looked like ice cream, but I didn’t get to try it this time. I will definitely try it next time I come back.

The bill was a little over 1,200 yen per person at Saturday lunch prices.
Since Sukairaku sends 2,000-yen worth of shareholder discount coupon every six months, we can come here four times a year if we use 1,000-yen worth of coupons each.

We were at a loss for what to do with the meal since this is our first-time visit, but I think we will be able to do more smoothly next time.

I am sometimes taken to a beef shabu restaurant in Gion, which costs 5,000 yen per meal, and here it is 1,200 yen per meal. Considering the price difference, I thought it was not bad at all. It was really delicious. In addition, I’m very full!＼(^o^)／
