I went to Drive in Daruma in Maizuru while I was driving.
Since I was curious from before, I’m impressed to have been able to visit this time for the first time!
The shop is along the national road 178, the Yura river passes through that leads to Wakasa Bay near the back of the shop.
Because the shop is near the sea, when I was getting off the car, I smelled the rocky shore faintly.
I usually live in city, so I felt that distinguished smell of the sea to be fresh.
I felt the shop’s exterior fondly-remembered somehow, as it has retro feel and doesn’t have the cleanness of the modern building, but it is with a calm appearance. The parking lot are, as I remember, for 7-8 cars.
Inside the shop, there was a spectacle spread as the time remained in Showa era.
It is as if I time slipped.
Arcade cabinets of Pac-Man, and crane game machines that I see for the first time.
They had an impact for me who was born in Heisei era.
The Ramen and udon vending machines I was aiming at.
I have heard about that, but it was my first time to see the real one.
I was surprised to hear that the products in the vending machines were replenished with hand-made ones the staff of the restaurant next door made every day.
There are one long table and eight chairs in front of the vending machines, we can sit and eat the purchases there.
27 seconds after I put money, a hot Tenpura udon came out.
There is small shrimp tempura, kamabokos and leeks as ingredients.
Chopsticks and condiments like shichimi were in the middle of the table.
The udon was so-so delicious as the temperature was low that day and I was hungry at that time. It was so nice that I could have it by 250 yen.
As I was not satisfied with only udon … (smile), I ate Ramen following that.
Ramen was also ready 27 seconds after putting money.
The ingredients of one slice of roast pork, sprouts and leeks in it.
I ate it with a little pepper on it.
Well, this is also so-so delicious.
The noodles had just hardness, not too hard and not too soft.
I think it was worthwhile to eat udon or Ramen that I purchased from a vending machine in the retro atmosphere like this, although they don’t have the taste like the ones in specialty shops.
Although I didn’t buy this time, there are also vending machines of bottle cola, hamburgers, and cup noodles.
People in those ages should visit Drive in Daruma without fail when they go to Maizuru.
It is no doubt that they could be soaked in nostalgia.
The nostalgic shop like this.
I think it is very hard, I want them to be continued kept from now on.
