If you say Kyoto in a nutshell, some of Kyoto people live in the Gosho area, while others live in the Yamashina-Uji area. I will write about it as I felt the regionality through actual connection with Kyoto people in various regions in SNS and such.

The first is Rakuchu people.

Many people in Rakuchu are high-spirited. To begin with, since all the stores in the neighborhood are upscale, they shop and buy their luxury items at such good stores. I think many of those who have moved in from outside Kyoto may also be called the so-so successful people there. If you look at the photos of food that flow on SNS, you can see how high their standard of living is.

And unfortunately, many Rakuchu residents have friction with tourists in their daily lives, and most do not think well of tourists (especially those with bad manners).
They complain against tourists a lot on SNS.

The land prices in Rakuchu area are high so naturally property taxes are also high.
I think since they continue to live there, many of them naturally have a reasonable income.

Next, Rakugai people.

Strictly speaking, I belong to Rakugai people, but Kyoto City also has urban shopping malls, very cheap supermarkets, other convenient shopping facilities for daily life in the suburbs, and I think this kind of scene is no different from that in other prefectures. In the past, many people used to go to Takashimaya or Daimaru on Shijo Street to do their shopping, but nowadays many people probably just go to a neighborhood shopping mall.

Tourists do come to Rakugai, but not in large numbers, and many do not seem to pay much attention to it.

Kyoto City has few large corporations outside of Kyoto, and many people who live in areas with poor access transportation have low incomes.

Next, Yamashina and southern Kyoto people.

People in Yamashina and southern Kyoto do not so much look like Kyoto people. There is no vainness in them, and many people are thrifty. I am sorry to say this, but I also have the impression that many people are poor.

However, most of the large corporations are located in southern Kyoto where land prices are lower, and I believe that many working households live in southern Kyoto with an emphasis on proximity to work and residence. Many people come out to JR Kyoto Station or the Shijo area from time to time to do a little shopping.

As I, a northern resident, travel south on the Hankyu and Keihan trains, the ratio of young people among the passengers gradually increases. I believe that some young people who cannot easily set up houses in the northern part of Kyoto are moving to the southern part of Kyoto.

If there is a difficulty, it is that since the southern part of Kyoto is designed to give priority to automobile traffic, the risk of traffic accidents is higher than in the northern part of the city.

Finally, the people in the northern part of Kyoto prefecture.

I have the impression that some people living around Maizuru in the northern part of Kyoto Prefecture no longer speak Kyoto dialect. Geographically, it is in Kyoto Prefecture, but in terms of culture, it has a bit different one from that of Kyoto people.

In terms of distance, Hyogo Prefecture is sometimes closer than Kyoto City, so they are not so much influenced by Kyoto people.

Roughly speaking, it goes like this.
