Today, I will explain the daily shopping situation of Kyoto residents.
In the center of downtown Kyoto, there is a shopping street called Nishiki Market, which is known as “Kyoto’s kitchen” and sells a variety of upscale and delicious foods.

But actually it is not so.

The products sold at Nishiki Market are not in the price range for daily use, so many locals do their daily shopping at inexpensive supermarkets such as Life and Fresco. Many Kyoto people are very frugal.

Also, recently there has been a remarkable expansion of that cheap business supermarket in the city!
