Well, this time has come today, too. It’s time for Kyoto Yomoyama Talk. Today, I, Aegis Capital Honami, a too mysterious J-Tele announcer, would like to introduce you a famous western-style restaurant in Kyoto, Toyotei.

Oh, we are approaching it. This is Toyotei (main restaurant).

Toyotei was originated by founder Ginjiro Takahashi who opened western-style restaurant in 1897 (Meiji 30). He and his wife went through many hardships to start the restaurant with the single-mind desire to bring the taste of “Western cuisine,” which at that time was a prize of high quality, to the people of Kyoto.

Well, what kinds of menu are they awaiting us in such Toyotei? This is one example on the menu.

Look at this hamburger steak. It is a huge volume. A hamburger steak, a fried egg, a shimeji mushroom, and a whole potato are on the plate. It’s terrific. When I ate it, the hamburger steak is juicy and delicious, and the potatoes with jaggery flavor are unquestionable.

Putting the hamburger in my mouth and take the white rice with it, it’s utmost superb.

Also, this tomato was very tasty being light in the mouth.

Thanks to this, I was very satisfied.
