The stories Kyoto people have.
Those born and raised in Kyoto have probably been told this at least once or twice by their parents.
Parents may say these words with a light heart, but the child who is told them is quite shocked. Children take seriously what their parents tell them.
I myself had a mild tic disorder when I was a boy, so I sometimes wonder if parents’ love was lacking for me.

In the past, people might have really dumped their newly-born children in the Kamogawa River! Some families, such as the baby boomers, probably had too many children to raise.
Do parents now say this too?
That’s a word I don’t really like to be told.
