The sun is bright…

I, Kuya cover my eyes by the brightness of the light spontaneously. But it is not what causes discomfort to me. Rather, it makes me very comfortable.

As if the merciful Buddha gives the light of thought to people equally.

And the people who are illuminated by this light are living resonating the heartbeat of life to the fullest in this place again today. They live vibrant now, interacting each other, buying products, selling products, and giving things. The heartbeat of such people can be heard to me.

The heartbeat, it creates continuously strong wills, flares up explosively, and continues to create a sense of enthusiasm and dynamism. The dynamics of life brought about by people, it blows away the desperate darkness being there now further in the distance, and is resonating the most lively ever heartbeat of life in Heiankyo, the city of dream that dreams intersect. However, cruel it is now, or because it is cruel, you must just look forward and live the life now here with the utmost shine.

Even if the place is the wilderness where unchanging winds blow.
Or, being so makes us engrave this time further.

I am living today as well in such heartbeat of life. I am living while engraving the time in this place people encounter and leave quietly and calmly. Higashi city in city of Kyoto, Heiankyo where through the trade of products, really diverse people continuously encounter and leave and interact each other. I engrave the time of ease hearing the heartbeat of life of people slowly today as well while spreading straw mat and sitting down there, setting up a beggar tray in front of me, and begging for food gently.

Therefore, I can certainly feel that I am never be in solitude. I can certainly feel that I am not alone although I am solitude.

Listen carefully, my disciple, Kuya Saya.

Can you hear, my great master, Amida Buddha and its great disciples. You told me so in the past. And I am feeling the thoughts just now strongly. I certainly feel your thoughts that say “all things are empty and don’t have generation and extermination being familiar to me”.

This Higashi city also originally doesn’t have fixed entity called “the city”. “The city” consists of under the wills of diverse people and the highly diverse relationships created by them. There are merchants who sell products people need in order to live in the city and various statuses of city people come here to buy the products. The products that are sold in the market are transported and delivered from various countries to the capital of Kyoto, and arranged on the display stands of the shops. And the security of Higashi city is maintained by city administrators appointed by the imperial court. Thus, Higashi city consists of under the highly diverse relationships. Therefore, the eastern market originally doesn’t have a fixed entity and “the market” itself never generate naturally. And it does not generate nor disappear.

I am living entrusting myself in Higashi city. However, it does not mean that I am living in Higashi city nor I am allowed to live by the people in Higashi city. I am allowed to live in the highly diverse relationships that are creating Higashi city and transcend difference for every level of status. As for the location of Higashi city, the merchants who sell the products support the lives of city people who buy their products and people who buy the products support the lives of merchants who sell their products. People who produce their products in local areas and Kinki region play a role to support the lives of all people who live in Higashi city, to say further all people who live in the city. And those who transport and deliver the products that are sold in Higashi city in Heiankyo connect people in the local areas and Kinki region and people living in the city. The city administrator appointed by the imperial court are entrusted to maintain the safety and security of Higashi city.

My life is supported and let lived in such a world.
