Although it is a stimulating title, is Kyoto really sightseeing city?

City of Kyoto

Certainly, there are many shrines and temples and I think the sightseeing income gained from these are big. However, is it really OK to make Kyoto a sightseeing city?

To much attention to sightseeing people makes height restrictions for buildings stricter, and younger generations in the city must move to outside Kyoto City without condominiums to live in. Building high-level buildings is prohibited in the city and there are no tenant spaces for the businesses there and there are not so many workplaces in the heart of Kyoto City for current workers.

Almost all of my former friends also moved to satellite cities like Nagaokakyo city or Hachiman city.

If this is the result of strict building restrictions for the Kyoto City being sightseeing city, do you think it is something strange?

Office building

To be frank, I think it is good to build high-level buildings and condominiums more and more in other areas by dividing the areas for sightseeing and people live in and leaving old landscapes like Hanami koji in Gion. It doesn’t matter whether it is north or south from JR Kyoto station. I think it is unreasonable at all not to build high-level buildings in Kyoto with less earthquakes.

I think Kyoto should be the western city not ancient city.
