Good morning!
This is Kurama Tengu.( ̄▽ ̄)b
I’d like to talk about Web design today.
Unfortunately, this site is still developing stage as to the number of page views, we are doing very elaborate things as systematically. These include the use of WordPress, installing of custom post type and built-in blogs, the use of plug-in by jQuery in gallery and so on…
We will continue to pursue this site without g giving up wherever, so please watch with warm eyes.(^_^)
We return the story to the main topic, and the story this time is regarding “affordance”. I studied the concept of “affordance” when I take exam of Web design technical test, and it’s a way to design so that users can judge intuitively what actions they can cause from the pictorial patterns, for example, there is a picture of button on Web page and we can push this, and there is a drawing of faucet and we can twist it.

In this site, we display the picture we can push (There is a link.) with shadow. By adding shadow on the picture that we can push we design so that users can understand intuitively that there would be some responses if they click it. (We changed the designs now.) Also, we make sure to underline link text so that users can understand intuitively that there is a link here. (Regarding underlined link, we think many users understand that underlines on Web site is hyper link.)
However, there are flat designs and material designs in recent design trends. We interpret the story as it recommends flat designs abolishing the unnecessary decorations on rich designs, and I think this contradicts with the concept of affordance, but I’d like to omit this as it is a difficult story.
As I, Kurama Tengu am a Web designer who grew in the era of rich design mainstream, I’m still fond of designs of elaborate pictorial patterns. It is my commitment when I do Web design. Of course, when asked to make the designs simple, I draw simple pictorial patterns, though…
