Good morning!
This is Kurama Tengu. ( ̄▽ ̄)b

My home is in the northern part of Kyoto city.
When I drive toward the southern part of the city, we go through the urban area and it is always very crowded there.

In general, I think that the most crowded area is around Gion.
The north south area from Higshiyama Shijo intersection is most crowded. And, near the Kawabata Shijo intersection is crowded, too.

And the area which is always crowded is Shijo street.
I hear that Shijo Street became to have no traffic jams in spite of the sidewalk have been broaden recently, but the people in Kyoto city knows that Shijo Street is bottleneck, everyone might be avoiding driving Shijo Street.

And even Horikawa street whose number of lanes is large, to the south from Gojo street is crowded and we can’t go ahead well in around the evening.

In contrast, Oike street is a good street.
There are many lanes in this street, and I think it has become convenient that we can drive to Uzumasa Tenjingawa as we didn’t realize. For me who is living in northern part of Kyoto City, I secretly hope that Oike street would become the main street in Kyoto in the future. (^_^)

In general, the north south streets in Kyoto are crowded after evening and we always get stuck when traverse longitudinally south and north in the city. I feel that the areas where we don’t get stuck in traffic between south and north are Shirokawa street around the east and Sai (Kasuga) street in the west.
