Here I am. This is café Shizuka, isn’t it?

When taking system 201 bus departing from Horikawa-Imadegawa Street and Getting off at Senbon-Imadegawa bus stop, you can see the words “Shizuka” written in red alphabets. It led me so I recognized it at once. Well, what kind of encounter with café is waiting for me this time? Let me go immediately.
A velvet-upholstered chair designed to resemble a train. A pillar with an adorable design resembling a black rosary. A wall lined with sepia-toned world maps and coffee grinders. Various kinds of people are coming to this café where Showa-era charm still exists. A grandmother being led by the hand by her grandchild. Someone who looks like a regular who’s been coming here for years. An older man relaxing at his own pace. There were both young people and middle-aged and older people. If anything, it seemed to me like there were more middle-aged and older people, but that’s part of the charm.
The gentle weight and depth of life that the veteran generation has likely accumulated over the years. And there is Café Shizuka, which has been a part of people’s lives through the Showa and Reiwa eras. That’s because the two blend harmoniously, coming together to create a warm atmosphere.
Well, let’s take it easy again today, shall we? Right here in this cozy café. Oh, look, there are quite a few items on the menu. Take a look -see?

Café-Style Pilaf (Regular: ¥700, Large: ¥1,000).
Curry Rice (Regular: ¥800, Large: ¥1,100).
Curry Pilaf (Regular: ¥700, Large: ¥1,000).
Pork Cutlet Curry (Regular ¥1,200, Large ¥1,400).
Hamburger Steak Curry (Regular ¥1,000, Large ¥1,200)
Chicken Rice Doria (Regular ¥800)
Hamburger Steak Doria (Regular ¥900)
There are also toasts and sandwiches,

They also have pancakes and fruit sandwiches.

Of course, there are also drinks like coffee.
Today. I decided to try this one. After all, I still have a little treat saved for later.

Cafe-Style Pilaf (with salad): Regular: \700

To be honest, I don’t remember ever having eaten pilaf in my entire life. So today marks my very first time actually trying it. I can’t believe it.
Unlike fried rice, where the dry, crumbly texture adds to its charm, the pilaf had a light, delicate flavor. The stir-fried rice is evenly coated with egg and other ingredients, and a small piece of pickled red ginger sits neatly on the side, adding a nice pop of color. It not only looked delicious but also had a light, delicious flavor. It was a pilaf that offered that kind of enjoyment. At 700 yen for a regular portion and 1,000 yen for a large portion, it’s a great value.
Also, since it was a one-drink minimum, I ordered an iced milk tea as well.

This is a perfect drink for a hot summer day. I was really thirsty, so this came in handy.
Now that I’ve finished the pilaf, let’s move on to the special treat I saved for later. Here it is.

Fruit Sandwiches (pack of four): 1,000 yen.
I’ve had regular sandwiches before. But as for fruit sandwiches – I’d heard the name, but I’d never actually tried one. They looked so delicious that I’d always dreamed of trying them someday. And today, that dream finally came true.
Ah, so if you believe, your dreams really do come true. How wonderful!
Look at this. The bread is filled with a rich strawberry cream and pieces of fruit such as orange, strawberry, and kiwi. This is delicious. That’s because the sweet and fruity flavors blend together so well. It’s fine to eat all four by yourself. It’s fine to share them between two people. It’s fine to share them between four people one for person. There are so many ways to enjoy them.
I had a wonderful day today, as well. Thank you.
