Long time has passed since I came here last time. It seems to be as busy as ever.

Hello, everyone. I’m at a bakery called Annee today. When you exit the Karasuma-Oike subway station and turn onto Anekoji Street (look for the NHK Kyoto building), you’ll find it right away.
This bakery is known for its homemade bread, baked by owner Naoto Tubokura, who honed his skills in France.
“I want to be a bakery that’s loved by the community, just like a neighborhood candy store, says the owner – sure enough, Annee is bustling with customers every day. Whenever I go there, there’s usually a line. It must be that popular.
Of course, you can take out, personally, I like eating at café space inside the shop. It was just a lunchtime when I carried my foot there, lunch menu was available.

I couldn’t tell just from the menu, but I decided to order the lunch bread set anyway. I waited in line for a while, but I was shown to a table without having to wait too long.
The shop was bustling with people, and the display case was filled with an assortment of bread.

Customers keep coming in one after another, so I’m still surprised. Well, I suppose that’s only natural. I’ve only been to Annee once before, but I thought the food here was really delicious.
Well, I’m going to pick a few items from the many breads lined up in the display case and enjoy today’s lunch bread set.

Lunch Bread Set (680 yen)
Quiche and Salad (center)
Left: Walnut quiche – 350 yen.
Center: Dried tomato, cheese, and black pepper – 400 yen.
Right: Cranberry and cream cheese – 280 yen.
The bread isn’t that expensive, but it’s delicious. The dried tomato, cheese, and black pepper bread, the walnut bread, and the cranberry and cream cheese bread all had distinct flavors that really stood out, and I enjoyed them all very much. Oh, and speaking of delicious things, the banana milk was great, too.

Banana milk (750 yen)
I thought it might be something like banana juice, but it wasn’t. It was a very light drink with a perfect balance of banana, sweetness, and milk. I really enjoyed this one, too.
The café has only 14 seats, which isn’t very many, but it’s definitely worth the wait.
Come check it out sometime. You’ll be surprised. And I’m sure you’ll want to come back. It was so delicious that I even bought some bread to take home.

“Honey and Butter” (250 yen), made with plenty of honey and salted butter.

“Anpan” – a bun filled with plenty of homemade, slowly simmered sweet red bean paste – 250 yen.
Everything was absolutely delicious. Thank you very much.
