It’s cold, cold. Very cold! How about you, Mido?

Midorogaike pond

… The pond of silence, Mido. Yes, here is that famous deep mud pond (Midoroga-ike). My favorite and lovely deep mud pond. Why? It is because this is a place where demons are said to emerge. Oh, scarry, scarry. But fun.

Yes, that’s right. Many demons used to emerge and baffle people around here. It is said that they were living in the valley at the bottom of Kibune, and came to this deep mud pond through underground waterway and came out to the ground from the cape’s hole.

The villagers then threw beans into the hole, and the demons stopped appearing.

The deep mud pond has such a story, but when I went there, the pond itself does not seem that spooky. It might be spooky at night, though.

I spent a chilly time in such a pond. As I was thinking so,
I felt me being hungry.

So, I decided to go to a rather unusual restaurant that was located rather close by. That is this restaurant.

Appearance of Barigassi 1

This is Bali Gashi, a restaurant that serves delicious food from Bali, Indonesia.

I have visited this restaurant several times. This time, I entered the restaurant to see what kind of cuisine I would encounter!

The inside of the restaurant is like this. (Transferred from Facebook).

By the way, Bali Gashi seems to be a popular restaurant, and soon after it opened at 12:00 p.m. many customers arrived and the place was full in no time. So maybe you should come early. Or you might be better to make a reservation.

Well, let’s take a look at the menu.

Barigashi's lunch menu.

There are quite a lot of them, but for example, there is this one.

Barigashi's dessert menu.

So, let’s order this today.

Babigrin.

Babigurin (1,550 yen)

Balinese festive dish of roasted whole pig, babi guling style. Richly flavored pork belly grilled with special spices. Very tasty with spicy rice. It is indeed the restaurant’s second most popular item.

And after eating well, now I want to have dessert. What’s on the dessert menu?

I see. Well, then, I’ll take this one.

Dadar

Dadar (1,000 yen)

A unique crepe made of coconut cooked like caramel and added with milk and other ingredients. I had never had it before, but the sweet coconut flavor matched the crepe batter very well.

Indonesian cuisine that can only be enjoyed at this restaurant in Kitayama. I had a very good time.
