Oh, aquarium, wonderful!
It’s gorgeous and fantastic!

This may be my first time to have been such moved coming to an aquarium. I never imagined I’d get to interact with fish swimming so gracefully in such a fantastic space. If you come here to Kyoto Aquarium, you’ll surely feel the same way.

Kyoto Aquarium, it is not an aquarium to just interact with fish in the sea.
Set against Kyoto’s rivers and seas, it harmonizes quiet dynamism with lively energy, inviting us all into a grand and elegant fantasy world of the ocean. Because we can experience and share such a worldview.

A floor where you can interact with many creatures that inhabit Kyoto’s rivers. Here you’ll find many creatures, including giant salamanders, char, Japanese char, sweet-fish, and carp. I hear the giant salamanders inhabiting the Kamo and Katura rivers in particular, are facing extinction due to increasing hybridizations with non-native species.

This is why the aquarium is doing the preservation for them. You can also learn such a thing.

In the quiet dynamism, the lives are certainly breathing.
Though being small, the lives are pulsing quietly. We’re all alive, aren’t we?

Well, you can meet other than fish in the aquarium. You can also meet adorable sea lions.

Many families with children visited the aquarium, and the sight of little ones enjoying themselves with their fathers and mothers was truly heartwarming. And them there are the adorable sea lions overlapping the scene. Relaxing in the tank, swimming gracefully and energetically. Ah, it’s truly twice as cute. It’s the moment when an ordinary day became a SUPER CUTE DAY Z.

From a world of quiet dynamism to one of lively energy. The sea lions and children, along with parents enjoying it together. Ah, what a wonderful life! It’s fun, THE JOY!

Of course, at the aquarium, you can also enjoy the diverse world of the sea to your heart’s content.

Especially the floor with the jellyfish. That was truly amazing.

Oh… It’s final fantasy!

It may be that a gasp of admiration let out unexpectedly. Such a beautiful and fantastical world was spreading out before my eyes. The sight of jellyfish swimming gracefully in the fantastical sea was nothing short of magnificent and breathtaking. I truly had the privilege of witnessing an absolutely magnificent, supreme moment. This is precisely what one might call the ultimate illusion.
