Wow, what is this place? Everyone, take a look at this menu board?

Kino-ne Menu Board 2

Look at all those delicious-looking sweets lined up there. Isn’t that just amazing? Oh, I can’t just stand here. Let’s go inside the building and head straight up to the fourth floor.

Located in the heart of Kyoto, just a stone’s throw from the Shijo-Kawaramachi intersection, is the Kuramoto Building. This café is on the fourth floor. It’s a sweet café with a Japanese theme. That’s Wa Café Kinone.

A one-of-a-kind space where you can relax and enjoy tea and sweets while gazing out at Kawaramachi Street, free from the hustle and bustle of the city. Come and spend a relaxing moment in this special setting.

Well, well, the menu seems to have a wide variety of options, from parfaits and shaved ice to cakes and anmitu.

Strawberry Condensed Milk Espuma Ice

They offer hojicha and matcha-flavored sweets – oh, and ice cream too.

Matcha ice cream. Hojicha ice cream. Vanilla ice cream.

Matcha Ice Cream (900 yen)

Hojicha Ice Cream (850 yen)

Vanilla Ice Cream (800 yen)

I can’t decide which one to get, but I’ll go with this for now.

Here it is. Enjoy!

Tea Picking

Tea Picking (1,400 yen)

Just take a look at this. It’s a luxurious treat that combines matcha castella and a mini parfait. The plate holding the castella and parfait is dusted with matcha powder in a diagonal pattern, and a beautiful circle of matcha powder is drawn around the edge of the plate. This sweet itself is truly a work of art, isn’t it? And with this single “Tea Picking” set, you can enjoy both Uji matcha castella and Uji tea ice cream at the same time. This is another truly wonderful moment. The rich, smooth matcha spreads across your palate, blending perfectly with the sweetness of the castella to create a truly exquisite taste. And to top of it, a luxurious mini parfait.

Ah, how wonderful!

By the way, the parfait features three types of ice cream: matcha, hojicha, and vanilla. It’s also nice that you can enjoy three different flavors of ice cream. And underneath the ice cream, I was greeted by several kinds of agar jelly and colorful mochi balls.

Mini Parfait

A café adorned with a variety of sweets, offering a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. If you’d like to savor traditional Japanese sweets like hojicha, matcha, and warabi mochi, please come on in.
