In addition to normal browser access, this website can be used as if you were opening an application from the home screen of your PC or smartphone, using a feature called “Progressive Web Application (PWA)”. Here we explain how to do this.
For iOS
1. First, open the top page of “Kyoto Kanko Net” in the Safari browser (https://kyoto-kanko.net/top-en/) and tap the icon with the up arrow on the square in the middle of the toolbar.
2. Tap “Add to Home Screen” when the menu appears.
3. Tap the “Add” text on the confirmation screen.
4. The “Kyoto Kanko” icon will appear on the home screen. The application is now ready to use. Please move it to any place you like.
5. The web app version of “Kyoto Kanko Net” will look like this. There is no address bar and it is more user-friendly.
For Android
1. First, open the top page of “Kyoto Kanko Net” with Mobile Chrome browser (https://kyoto-kanko.net/top-en/) and tap the “…” icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
2. Tap “Install App” on the menu.
3. When “Install App” appears, tap the word “Install.”
4. The “Kyoto Kanko” icon is now displayed on the home screen. You can now use it as an application. Please feel free to move it to any location.
