Otokuni Temple

Otokuni Temple is a temple of Shingon-shu Buzan-ha located in Nagaokakyo city, Kyoto Prefecture, famous as peony temple. Although the foundation is not certain, it is presumed that it was founded before the Nagaoka-kyo construction, the Nara period. The peony festival is from around late April. (peony festival is entrance fee charged)

It is said that it is a temple deeply connected with Kobo Daishi, and it is said that the principal image Hachiman Kobo Gattai Taishi statue was made by Kobo Daishi.

Otokuni Temple’s precincts is not wide in the, it is a peony in the spring, autumn leaves in the autumn and a temple colored by the season.
